Interesting plot; Gable and Garson are not well matched as romantics and for this reason it didn't bring me into the story.

I like this movie only because the ending is so great. I get what you are saying - seems like Gable and Joan Blondell are more suited that Gable and Greer. But the ending makes it worthwhile.
